Julie Kay Johnson has been named Valedictorian of the Spencer High School graduating class of 1975. A former resident of Withee (Clark Co., Wis.), Julie attended Holy Rosary School through sixth grade, completing her studies at Spencer. She is the granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. James Devine, Route 1, Withee, and the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Lyle Johnson, Route 2, Spencer.

While in school Julie was active in FHA, Drama Club, and Band, holding offices in these organizations. She has been the recipient of two first in instrumental music awards at the State level, and received the Elks Award for outstanding senior in the Science field. Julie plans to attend the University of Wisconsin, Eau Claire, pursuing a career as a Nursing Instructor.
