Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM on Monday, April 29, 2019, at Immanuel Ev. Lutheran Church, Medford, with pastors James Krueger & James Babler co-officiating. Interment will be at Medford Evergreen Cemetery II.

Visitation will be at Immanuel Ev. Lutheran Church, Medford from 10 AM until the time of services at 11 AM on Monday, April 29. Pallbearers will be her Grandchildren.

Lucille was born on April 6, 1924, at Brooks, MN, to Alfred and Lydia (Grimm) Schubert.
She attended Medford elementary schools and was a 1942 graduate of Medford High School.
On July 18, 1942, at Immanuel Ev. Lutheran Church, Medford, she was married to Vernon J. Frey. He preceded her in death on November 21, 2004.

After raising two children on her own while Vernon was in WWII, they eventually settled on the Frey family dairy farm in the Town of Browning. Lucille worked as a homemaker during this time, raising seven children. In the 1990’s they moved to the City of Medford, where she continued to enjoy a very active life. Lucille did beautiful embroidering, and she always loved the occasional trips to casinos, as well as playing cards. She was an avid Packers and Brewers fan, and looked forward to the games that she attended with her children. In 2012, Lucille moved to Country Gardens where her passion became BINGO! She was a member of Immanuel Ev. Lutheran Church, Medford & its Ladies of Immanuel.

Lillian is survived by children Donna Flaherty of Delafield, WI; Pam Frey of Apache Junction, AZ; Shelley (Tim) Lidstone of Minnetonka, MN; Vernon (Carol), Jr. of Lynchburg, VA; Patrick of San Jose, Costa Rica; John (Claire) of De Pere, WI; 8 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren.

She is predeceased by her parents, husband Vernon, son Randall in 2013, and siblings Alvin, Oliver, Lloyd Schubert, and Esther Stendel.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions be given either to Hope Hospice of Medford or Immanuel Ev. Lutheran Church, Medford.
