September 18, 1970, at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Julia Maria Weix, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Albert Weix of route 2, Colby, became the bride of Lawrence Lambert Gorski. He is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Lambert Gorski of route 2, Mosinee.
Father Rushman witnessed the 1:30 p.m. vows.
The bride, escorted by her father, wore an organza gown with Chantilly lace trimming on the front. It was styled with a high stand-up neckline and lace design appliqued the full puffed sleeves. The front of the bouffant organza, skirt was trimmed in lace and ruffles, and a removable chapel train was featured.
Her matching headpiece of lace petals held her bouffant veil. The bridal bouquet consisted of pink roses white pompons an daisy mums.
Maid of honor for her friend was Miss Darla Halopka of Dorchester. Other bridesmaids were Shirley Grochmal of Minneapolis, a cousin of the groom, and Julianne Weix, Colby, the bride's sister.
The groom's best man was James Gorski of Mosinee. Also assisting were John Weix of Colby and Randolph Gorski, Mosinee.
Stephanie Ann Weix, Colby, and Todd Dallman, Mosinee, served as the miniature bride and groom. Performing the ushering duties were Arnold Miller and John Dallman.
The A-line gowns worn by the bride's attendants were of yellow chiffon over taffeta. Chantilly lace trimmed the bodices, the set-off puff sleeves and high necklines. Bow headpieces to match their gowns held their veils. Yellow and white daisies made up their bouquets.
Festivities following the ceremony included a reception at the Colby City Hall, supper at St. Mary's school gym, and dancing at the Poplar Tree Ballroom.
The bride is a 1968 graduate of Colby High School and has been employed by Employers Insurance of Wausau.
A graduate of Mosinee High School in 1965, and in 1967 from North Central Technical Institute in Wausau, the groom is a machinist at Marathon Electric in Wausau.
Following a trip through northern Wisconsin, the couple will live at route 5, Mosinee.
