Meier, Ronald Robert (1 November 1940 – 21 March 2019)

Ronald Robert Meier, 78, of La Junta, Colorado passed away peacefully in his home on Thursday, March 21, 2019. Ronald was born in Granton, WI on November 1, 1940 to Arthur and Bessie (Rizner) Meier.

Ronald was most recently employed as a Long Haul Driver for a railroad crew with Hallcon. He was previously the owner of Rocky Ford Pet Foods. Ronald was a devoted family. He loved spending time with his friends, family, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Ronald also loved hunting with friends and being outdoors. Ronald will be greatly missed by all.

He is survived by his wife Kelly Meier of the La Junta home; daughter, Samantha Lewis, grandson, Jaysen; daughter, Nicole (Dimitri) Romero, grandchildren, Dimitri “D.J.”, Ariella and Dante; daughter, Annette (Russel) Stahlecker, granddaughter, Megan Stahlecker, grandson, Nathaniel (Nicole) Stahlecker, great-granddaughter, Lola; son, Russell (Espie) Meier, granddaughter , Malorie (Curtis) Ellis, great-granddaughters, Isabella and Payton; grandson, Ronell, great-granddaughter Serenity; sisters, Judy (Jerry) Quaker, Anette Blackburn.

Ronald is preceded in death by his parents Arthur and Bessie Meier; first wife Lola Jean Meier; daughter Julie Ann Meier; son Ronald Meier Jr.; sister Betty Dux; brothers Arthur James and Raymond Meier.

Those wishing to do so, may make a memorial contribution to Trinity Lutheran Church, 1601 Raton Avenue; La Junta, CO 81050. Memorial Service will be Wednesday, March 27, 2019 at 2:30 p.m. at Trinity Lutheran Church in La Junta, CO.
