Rueden, Lou Ann (22 AUG 1970)

Miss Lou Ann Rueden and Lawrence Weix were married Saturday, August 22, 1970 at St. Bernard's Catholic Church in Abbotsford (Clark Co., Wis.).

Father Emil Hodnik officiated at the 2:30 ceremony.

The bride is the daughter of Mrs. Bertha Rueden, Abbotsford, and the late Arthur Rueden. His parents are Mr. and Mrs. Albert Weix Sr. of route 2, Colby.

Maid of honor and best man were Cheryl Poehnelt and David Rueden. Other attendants were Mr. and Mrs. Dewayne Franson of Pittsville, Mr. and Mrs. Ted Meier Jr. of Athens, Lynn Weix of Colby, and Arnie Lueth of Curtiss. The Misses Rosemary and Karen Rueden of Unity were the junior bridesmaids.

Performing the ushering duties were Allen Langteau and Joe Weix.

Three selections were sung for the wedding by Bette Tjirstad. The church choir accompanied her.

The bride chose a gown of imported organza and Venice lace in Edwardian style. It featured bishop sleeves and a detachable Watteau train. Her bouffant veil fell from a Venice lace Camelot headpiece. She carried a bouquet of a white orchid surrounded by pink roses and ivy.

The floor length gowns of the bridesmaids were demi-bell silhouettes of blue georgette over taffeta. The empire bodices and long sheer bishop sleeves were trimmed with ribbon and lace. Each carried single long stemmed pink mums.

The junior bridesmaids carried single long stemmed pink carnations.

A reception at the city hall in Abbotsford followed the ceremony. Dinner was served in the church basement and 225 guests gathered at city hall for a wedding dance.

The bridegroom is a 1963 graduate of Colby High School. She graduated from Abbotsford High School in 1968, and is a senior at St. Joseph's School of Nursing in Marshfield.

Following a honeymoon camping trip, the new couple will live at 514 Blodgett Street, Marshfield.
