Birch, Steve A. Sr. (10 AUG 1947 - 1 APR 2019)

Steve A. Birch Sr., 71, of Bruce, passed away peacefully on Monday, April 1, 2019 at HSHS Sacred Heart Hospital in Eau Claire.

Steve was born on Aug. 10, 1947, in Holcombe, to Edward and Margaret Birch. He grew up in the Cornell and Holcombe areas, later settling in Bruce, where he spent the greater part of his life farming, raising his kids and driving semi for over 40 yrs.

He enjoyed being a stock car racer, participating in demo derbies, tractor and truck pulls, mud bogs, fishing, hunting, old western movies and shows and fixing anything with a motor. If he could get his hands dirty he was doing it. He enjoyed country music and his favorite band was Alabama. He was a beloved man who would give you his last dime to help out. He always eager to share the knowledge he had. He will be missed dearly by those who knew and loved him.

Steve is survived by his sons, Scott Birch and Steve Birch Jr.; his daughter, Samantha (Birch) Pajala; his grandsons, Elijah Pajala and Kaleb Pestchke; his granddaughter, Hannah Petschke; his brothers, Dave, Eddie and Dode Birch and his sisters, Lora Pfankuch and Dolly Trankley.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Edward and Margaret Birch; his brothers, Richard Birch, August Birch Sr. and Waldemar Johnson; his sister, Eva Wojciuch and his son, Chad Petschke.

A celebration of life will be scheduled at a later date in Bruce.

Burial will be in Holcombe Cemetery.
