A reunion of the Dorchester High School Class of 1945 was held Saturday, August
15, 1970, at the Lamplighter Club at Medford.
Twelve of the 13 members of the class were present.
Prizes were awarded to Mrs. Ethel Bounds for coming the greatest distance and
for being the most recently married, to Arthur Boxrucker for the baldest head,
the most gray hair, the largest family, and the youngest child, and to Norman
Fenske for the largest waistline.
Letters were read from Herbert Juneau of New Lisbon, principal when the class
was in school, and Mrs. Franklin (Dorothy Nelson) Thieme of Colby.
Class members attending were Mr. and Mrs. Donald Broeske, Mr. and Mrs. Harold
(Annabelle Becker) Holmes of Milwaukee, Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Boxrucker of Prairie
du Chien, Mr. and Mrs. Norman (Beverly Genrich) Fenske, both class members, of
Ellsworth, Mrs. Leo (Ethel Miller Bounds of Warren, Michigan, Mr. and Mrs. Dale
(Carol Fierke) Ridderbusch of Abbotsford, Mr. and Mrs. George (Fern Tischendorf)
Hargraves of Athens, Mr. and Mrs. Alvin (Lillian Haufe) Stauner and Mr. and Mrs.
Clifford (Margaret Zak) Steevens, of Medford, Mr. and Mrs. Joe (Celine
Schumacher) Zirngible of Stetsonville, and Mr. and Mrs. Joseph (Dorothy
Tischendorf) Konecny of Dorchester.
Mrs. Clyde (Mildred Sailer) Schneider of North Canton, Ohio, was the only member
not present.
Another reunion will be held in five years, with Mrs. Konecny and Mrs. Hargraves
on the planning committee.
