Lukas, Helen (25 JUL 1923 – 26 JUL 1970)

Mrs. Norman Lukas, 47, route 1, Abbotsford, died Sunday afternoon, July 26, 1970, at 5:30 at St. Joseph's Hospital, Marshfield., shortly after he arrival. She has been in ill health for some time.

The body lay in state at the Polnaszek Funeral Home, Abbotsford. A rosary service was held there at 8:15 on Tuesday evening by the St. Bernard's Catholic Ladies' Altar Society, of which the deceased was a member, and a parish rosary service on Wednesday night at 8:15.

Funeral services were held Thursday morning at 10 o'clock at St. Bernard's Catholic Church, with the Rev. Emil Hodnik officiating. Interment was made in the Abbotsford Cemetery.

Mrs. Lukas, the former Helen A. Lundahl, was born in the town of Mayville (Clark Co., Wis.) July 25, 1923. She was graduated from the Abbotsford High School and attended a secretarial school in Chicago, and was employed there prior to her marriage. She was married at St. Bernard's Catholic Church to Norma Lukas on October 16, 1946, and they lived on a farm in the town of Mayville since that time.

She is survived by her husband and three children, Joanne, Marshfield, Gary and Patricia, at home.

She also has five sisters and two brothers: Mrs. Carl (Ethel) Morrow, Abbotsford, Mrs. Clarence (Bernice) Hayes, and the Misses Grace and Lorraine Lundahl of Chicago, and Miss Georgianna Lundahl, Evanston, Robert Lundahl, Ripon, and Jean Lundahl, Sarona.

She was preceded in death by an infant daughter, Mary, and twin sons, Richard, in 1948, and Roger in 1953. Her parents are also deceased.
