The Abbotsford High School class of 1950 held a reunion Saturday evening, July
11, 1970. There was a tour of the high school at 5:45, dinner at 7 at the Colby
Hotel, followed by a social hour at 9 in the Pine Room.
Twenty-four out of the class of 38 attended. The class colors of maroon and gold
were carried out in the decorations, and Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Kramer, who were
honor guests, were presented with a boutonniere and corsage, respectively.
Bernard Laabs was the master of ceremonies. Members attending received a 20-year
reunion booklet compiled and made by Jim Steffen.
Letters were read from members unable to attend. Fun prizes were awarded as
follows: Bernard Laabs, coming from the greatest distance; Mrs. Ed Brill,
youngest child, June 22; Andrew Schmirler, largest waist; Rowene Schaefer
Steffen, shortest skirt, and Ruth Leichtnam, single girl.
The committee planning the reunion was comprised of Bernard Laabs, Ronald
Grambort, Charles Hinke, Wally and Evonne Miller, Lois Neitzel Gehrke, Ella
Seidel Brill, Jim and Rowene Steffen.
Another reunion in five years will be held, with Gordon Knight as general
chairman.

Abbotsford; Mr. and Mrs. Norbert Martens, Unity; Mr. and Mrs. Walter (Evonne
Thompson) Miller, both of the class, Cedar Rapids, Iowa; Mr. and Mrs. Lawrence
Pinter, Abbotsford; Mr. and Mrs. LeRoy (Mathel Scheel) Hainzlsperger, Stevens
Point; Mr. and Mr.s Donald Scheibe, Stetsonville, Mr. and Mrs. Andrew Schmirler,
Brown Deer, Mr. and Mrs. Edward (Ella Seidel) Brill, Colby, Mr. and Mrs. James (Rowene
Schaefer) Steffen, both of the class, Brookfield; Mr. and Mr.s Alfred Uhlig,
Abbotsford; Mr. and Mrs. James Venske, Colby; Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Hoffman,
Dorchester, Mr. and Mrs. Larry (Lois Neitzel), Gehrke, Unity.
The class of 1949 was invited to join them at social hour. Coming for that were
Mr. and Mrs. Miles (Darlene Pascoe) Galiger of Phillips, and Mrs. Bernard
(Genevieve Bailke) Frey of Montgomery City, Missouri.
