The golden anniversary reunion of the class of 1920 of the Colby High School was held Friday night at the Colby Hotel.

Ten of the 17 original class members were present to reminisce and renew old acquaintances.

Two of the class members are deceased. Irma Zillman was killed in a car accident in 1920, the year of the graduation of the class, and Francis Engeldinger died in 1924, four years after graduation.

The rest are all living and have kept in contact, even though living in parts of the country, ranging from Florida, Texas, California and Oregon.

The class members enjoyed the evening's get-together. Each gave an account of his life in the 50 years since their graduation.

They expressed their gratitude to the Colby Hotel for the fine meal that was served, and for the treatment given to them in their reunion.

Two bouquets of flowers from the table were given to Mrs. Walter Maier and Mrs. Alfonse Firnstahl.

After the events at the Hotel some of the class members went to the home of Sherman Loos for additional reminiscing. He also showed slides of his hunting trips.

The five class members not present were Mrs. E.J. Dalton (Geraldine Eder) of route 1, Lodi, Wisconsin, who was unable to attend because of sickness in her family; Mrs. E.C. Grace (Florence Lehrmann) of 10810 N.E. Fargost, Portland, Oregon, who attended a family reunion the same weekend; Mrs. Gary Spiering (Violet Frome), 1433 N. 6th Street, Manitowoc, who was ill; Arthur Lindner, 2013 E. Park Row, Arlington, Texas, who was injured along with his wife in a car accident 60 miles from their home enroute to the reunion, , and Mrs. J. Hope (Lillian Burkhardt), who did not respond to the reunion invitation.

Other class members present were Mrs. Ed Braun (Celia Weix) of Athens; Mrs. Alvin Dallmann (Alice Pope), Box 47, Winnebago, Wisconsin; Mrs. Helen Waschow (Helen Bleichroth), 6833, N. Osceola Avenue, Chicago; Mrs. Walter Maier (Irma Wescott), 1125 Pearson, Firndale, Michigan; H.J. Beyerl, 271 Harruby Drive, Calimesa, California; Alfonse Firnstahl, Abbotsford; Chester Meyer, 10369 Country Club Drive, Dallas, Texas; Marzell Weix, Dorchester; Sherman Loos, Colby, and Dr. Frank Weix, Colby.
