Tryggestad, Anita Lillian (Sorensen) (20 DEC 1942 - 6 MAR 2019)

Anita Lillian (Sorensen) Tryggestad, 76, died in Boise, Idaho, on Wednesday, March 6, 2019. She had been in declining health for the last couple years as a result of multiple strokes due to a rare protein build up in the brain which led to severe dementia.

Anita was born on Dec. 20, 1942, in Ladysmith, to Selden "Ira" Sorensen and Bernice (Walunas) Sorensen. She lived in Bruce during the school years and spent her summers in locations like North and South Dakota, Colorado and northern Minnesota when her dad worked on the construction of dams and other projects.

She worked in South Dakota as a key punch operator after she graduated from Bruce High School in 1960 and then moved to the Twin Cities in Minnesota; she worked as a key punch operator for a number of years there.

Anita married Carl Tryggestad on Sept. 10, 1967. They enjoyed 51 years of marriage. She was a very strong woman of faith. She loved Jesus and praise music. She looked forward to God's Kingdom through the resurrection from death into life. She lived out her faith serving others, she had a soft spot for the widows and oppressed in the church. One of the highlights of her day was seeing babies and talking with their mothers and reminiscing about her own children when they were young.

She is survived by her husband, Carl; her daughter, Lisa (Mike) Kingston; her son, Brett and her granddaughter, Caitlyn Kingston.

A memorial service will be held at a later date.
