Monson, Harold A. “Bud” (6 OCT 1926 - 11 MAR 2019)

Harold A. “Bud” Monson, 92, of Jump River, passed away on Monday, March 11, 2019, at Ladysmith Care and Rehab.

Harold was born on Oct. 6, 1926, in the Town of McKinley, to Edward and Elizabeth (Vrba) Monson. He attended Sunnyside School until the eighth grade. Harold married Dorothy Manglos on Nov. 8, 1958. He was a farmer all of his life. He milked cows from the time he was four until he went into the nursing home in 2015.

He was an active member of Jump River Presbyterian Church, where he served on the parish council. He was the secretary for the Mt. Nebo Cemetery for many years and also dug graves at the cemetery.

Harold is survived by his four children: daughter, Teresa (Scott) Day and three sons, Dennis (Eileen) Monson and Lawrence (Carol) Monson, all of Jump River, and Ronald (Kara) Monson of Alameda, Calif. He is also survived by his grandchildren, Sarah, Nathan, Amanda, Chelsea, Samantha, Stephanie, Cayce and Katelynn and seven great-grandchildren, Connor, Cora, Brycen, Aurora-Jean, Logan, Maya and Naomi and one on the way.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Dorothy and his sister, Alvina.

Funeral services will be at 11 a.m., on Saturday, March 16, at 
Christ Community Church in Jump River with Rev. Joey Olsen officiating. Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m., 
on Friday, at Gilman Funeral Home and Saturday morning one hour prior to services at the church.

Burial will follow in Mount Nebo Cemetery.
