Ewert, Arthur E. (20 JAN 1901 – 09 MAY 1970)

Arthur Ewert, 69, route 2, Colby (Clark Co., Wis.), died late Saturday evening at Sacred Heart Hospital in Eau Claire. He had been hospitalized there the past week. Prvious to that he had been at Memorial Hospiital in Neillsville for several weeks.

Funeral services were Wednesday at 2 p.m. at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Green Gove (Colby Township, Wis.) Burial was made in St. Paul's Church Cemetery.

Arrangements were made by Lulloff Funeral Home in Colby.

Arthur Emil Ewert was born January 20, 1901 in the town of Unity (Clark Co.) on the farm owned by his parents. After the farm was purchased by an older brother, he moved with his parents into the village of Unity.

On September 10, 1924 he was married to the former Ettamay Neuman, who survives him. They made their home in the town of Green Grove and lived on the farm they purchased for over 40 years.

Arthur Ewert was active I many local affairs, including supervisor and chairman of the town of Green Grove for many years.

Four sons survive. They are Melvin of Germantown, Milford of Owen, Norman of Eau Claire, and Myron of Colby. There are 15 grandchildren.

A sister, Mrs. Elmer (Elsie) Carlson of Unity, and a brother, Henry, of Oshkosh, survive. A half-brother, Lester Ewert of Marshfield, also survives.

Preceding him in death, besides one infant grandson, are a brother, Carl Ewert, sisters, Mrs. Emma Finch, Mrs. Bertha Luchterhand, Mrs. Rose Klein and several infant sisters.
