Reil, Mr./Mrs. George (62nd – 14 APR 1970)
Mr. and Mrs. George Reil, former residents of this area, recently celebrated
their 62nd wedding anniversary.
They are now living in the Bethel Home at Arpin.
Mr. and Mrs. Reil were married April 14, 190 in Oconomowoc. He was a street car
conductor in Milwaukee for two years before moving to a farm in the town of
Colby, Clark County, near Abbotsford.
They farmed there until Highway 23 was routed through their farm. While farming
Mr. Reil played a concertina in a dance orchestra for 20 years.
From the farm the couple lived in Dorchester for four years. From there they
moved to Oshkosh in 1963,w here they lived until their move to Bethel Home in
July 1968.
Mr. Reil is 86 years olf and will be 87 in September. Mrs. Reil will be 82 years
old in June.
They have two children, Mrs. Armand (Luella) Duellman, Rhinelander, and Ben of
Oshkosh. There are twelve grandchildren and fifteen great-grandchildren. One
grandchild died during military service in 1969.
Mrs. Reil has two sisters, Mrs. Alma Wilke, Watertown, and Mrs. Leona Singstock
of Oshkosh. Other than his immediate family, Mr. Reil has no other relatives.
