Jerry Fults, son of Mrs. Ruby Fults of Abbotsford (Clark Co., Wis.), is among some 170 Wisconsin State University students who will participate on a 19-day Soviet study seminar.

The education seminar, aimed at promotion of the knowledge of the countries, will take its students on visits to Finland, Latvia, Poland, Denmark and the U.S.S.R., visiting the cities of Helsinki, Leningrad, Riga, Kiev, Moscow, Warsaw and Copenhagen.

Each student will received a credit for taking the tour seminar. An additional credit will be offered to those students who write papers on their studies during the Soviet venture.

Fults is a freshman at the Medford branch campus of the Wisconsin State University at Stevens Point. Ana rt major, he is a 1969 graduate of the Abbotsford High Schoo, where his interests included thee American Field Service program.

During his senior year, he was a "big brother" for Abbotsford's exchange student from Costa Rica.

In commenting on what he hopes to see on this trip, he said "The American people have a tendency to look at the U.S.S.R politically more than socially, and I hope to find a great resemblance between the Russian people and the United States citizens."
