Funeral services for Frederick Herman Bruesewitz, 72, were held Monday at 1:30
at the Zion Lutheran Church. He died early Saturday morning of emphysema at St.
Joseph's Hospital in Marshfield.
The body lay in state at Lulloff Funeral Home. Burial took place at the West
Spencer Cemetery. The Rev. David Pankow, pastor of Zion Lutheran Church in
Colby, presided at the services.
Pallbearers were Ronald, Richard and Roland Steinwagner, Arthur and Wayne
Bruesewitz, Harlan Kloke, and LeRoy Behrendt.
Mr. Bruesewitz was born in Sheboygan County. In 1910 he moved with his family to
Spencer. He was married there to Nellie Stowell in December 1919.
The couple lived in Marshfield and Spencer for some years. In 1932 they moved to
a farm North of Spencer and lived there until 1950, when they moved to the town
of Hull.
Mr. Bruesewitz was a member of Zion Lutheran Church, and was on the church
board. He was also affiliated with the Men's Club.
Surviving, besides his wife, are two sons and one daughter. They are Willmer of
Waukesha, Frederick of Marshfield, and Mrs. Herbert (Bertha) Steinwagner of
Unity.
Thirteen grandchildren and nineteen great-grandchildren survive. Also surviving
are two sisters, Emma Wood of Marshfield, and Elsie Behrendt, Wausau.
Two sons died in service, Harold in 1945 and Raymond in 1946. Also preceding him
in death are two sisters and three brothers.
