Spence, Julie L. (17 DEC 1919 – 10 DEC 1969)

Funeral services for Mrs. Henry Spence, 49, Abbotsford (Clark Co., Wis.), who died Wednesday, December 10, 1969, at 6:15 a.m. at St. Joseph's Hospital, Marshfield, after a prolonged illness, were held Saturday morning at 11 o'clock. A mass of requiem was sung at St. Bernard's Catholic Church, Abbotsford, with Rev. Emil Hodnik officiating.

The pallbearers for the interment , which was made in the Abbotsford Cemetery, were Mike Barnett, John Hutman, Walter Hopperdietzel, Jim Nehrlich, Gary Zuber and Kenneth Zuber.

The body lay in state at the Polnaszek Funeral Home, Abbotsford. On Friday evening at 7 o'clock, a rosary service was held by the St. Bernadette Court of the National Society of Foresters, of which Mrs. Spence was a member. A general rosary was held at eight o'clock. She was a member of St. Bernard's Church and of the Ladies' Altar Society.

The former Julie L. O'Hagan was born December 17, 1919 in North Ireland, where she received her education. Her marriage to Henry Spence took place in England April 5,1945. The couple to the United States in 1946 and lived at Dorchester until 1957, when they moved to Abbotsford.

Survivors include her husband, 11 children, Mrs. James (Mary) Nehrlich, Colby, Barbara, Milwaukee, Mrs. John (Patricia) Hutman, Michael, Penny, Arlene, Robert, Susan, Richard, John and Anne, all of Abbotsford; a grandchild, Angela Hutman; her mother, Mrs. Alice O'Hagan, Ireland; a brother, Jack O'Hagan, New York City, and five sisters and a brother, all in Ireland.
