Hingiss, Catherine (21 JAN 1893 – 06 JAN 1974)

Services for Mrs. Catherine Hingiss, 80, of route 1, Owen (Clark Co., Wis.), will be conducted at 1:30 p.m. Friday at the United Church of Christ, Owen. Mrs. Hingiss died at 5:30 p.m. Sunday at St. Michael's Hospital in Milwaukee.

Officiating at the Friday rites will be the Rev. Kurt Sampson, pastor, with burial to follow in Riverside Cemetery.

Friends may call at the Kraut-Maurina Funeral Home after 3 p.m. today.

Mrs. Hingiss was born January 21, 1893 in Rock Island, Illinois. Her marriage on May 25, 1910, at Owen, was to William E. Hingiss, who preceded her in death June 23, 1972.

The couple engaged in farming in the Town of Hoard until 1935, when they moved to the town of Green Grove. For the past two winters she had been making her home with a daughter, Dorothy Scheel, in Milwaukee.

She is survived by a son, William A. Hingiss, Waukesha; three daughters, Dorothy Scheel, Milwaukee; Mrs. John (Helen) Carroll, Eau Claire, and Mrs. Lawrence (Catherine) Scheel, Wilkes Barre, Pennsylvania; a sister, Mrs. Carrie Matthias, Owen; 19 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.
