Kanikula Harry John (26 MAR 1922 - 15 DEC 2004)

Harry J. Kanikula, age 82, of Eau Claire, Wis., formerly of Cicero, Ill., passed away Wednesday, December 15, 2004, at Syverson Lutheran Home, Eau Claire. He was born March 26, 1922, in Cicero, Ill., to Peter and Josephine Kanikula.

He attended Morton High School in Cicero and two years of business college. He served in the U.S. Coast Guard from 1942 to 1946 during WW II. He married Helen Pavic in Chicago, Ill., on May 1, 1948. He was an insurance salesman and retired in 1984. Harry was a member of the Disabled American Veterans (DAV) and the Knights of Columbus. He loved fishing and reading.

He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Helen; three daughters, Nadine (Robert) Grusnick, Mary (Mark) Rosebush and Patricia (John) Cartmill; four grandchildren, Andrea and Austin Cartmill, Bradley and Nicholas Grusnick; and eight siblings.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

A memorial service will be held for Harry at 7 p.m. on Saturday, December 18, 2004, at Prock Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Rob MacDougall officiating. Private family interment will be held at a later date in Lakeview Cemetery.
