Kallio, Andrew (8 MAR 1892 – 29 NOV 1973)

Funeral services for Andrew Kallio, 81, of route 2, Owen (Clark Co., Wis.), were held Saturday at 1 p.m. from Bethany Lutheran Church. He died at 8:50 a.m. Thursday at St. Joseph's Hospital, Marshfield, where he had been a patient since November 13.

The Rev. Robert Sullivan officiated at the service, with burial being made at Riverside Cemetery.

Pallbearers were four grandsons, Jim Peterson, Ron, Dan and John Kallio, and neighbors, Voitto Mutka and Pentha Puro.

Two vocal selections were sung by Mrs. Albert Petke, with Mrs. Lester Hansen serving as accompanist.

Mr. Kallio was born March 8, 1892 in Kortefjarvi, Finland, and came to the United States at the age of 22. He had operated a farm in the Town of Hoard (Clark Co., Wis.) for over 50 years.

His marriage on June 2, 1917 at Stambaugh, Michigan, was to the former Safira Okfanen, who survives him.

Other survivors include a son, Toivo Kallio, route 2, Owen; a daughter, Mrs. Woodrow (Sylvia) Peterson, Owen; a brother, Matt Kallio, Waukegan, Illinois; five grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren.

Preceding him in death were a daughter, three brothers, and a sister.

Friends who came from away included, Mr. Frank Parvi of Stambaugh, Michigan, Mrs. Joe Wurzer and Mr. and Mrs. David Raiha of Iron River, Michigan.
