Norman Edgar Riemer (4 Jul 1912 - 24 May 1997)

Norman Edgar “Buck” Riemer, 84, Stetsonville, died Saturday, May 24, 1997 at Wausau Hospital in Wausau.  Funeral services were held Tuesday, May 27, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Stetsonville with Rev. Frederick Brost officiating.

Burial was held in the parish cemetery and grandsons served as pallbearers.

Visitation and a prayer service were held at Maurina Funeral Home in Abbotsford.

Norman E. Riemer was born July 4, 1912, in the Town of Little Black to John and Anna (Brunner) Riemer.  He married Ruth Ludwig on September 9, 1936, in Stetsonville.

He and his wife farmed in the Town of Little Black until 1966.  He was then employed with Lato Construction in Thorp as a general carpenter and also did wood working and sharpened saws in his home shop.  He enjoyed playing the violin in local dance bands.

He was a member of area farm cooperatives.

Survivors include his wife of 60 years, Ruth; six daughters, Joyce (Eugene) Erickson of Milwaukee, Karen (Otto) Olson, Jr., Rhonda (Mike) Handel, and Phylis (Bill) Schafer, all of Medford, Marjean (Steve) Zemaitis of Rice Lake, and Kristyn (Dave) Tickler of Park Falls; four sons, Marvin (Pauline) of Stetsonville, Richard (Betty) of Medford, Jon (Julie) of Hendersonville, Tenn., and Larry (Pam) Riemer of River Falls; two sisters, Merle (Albert) Winchell and Elda Ludwig, both of Dorchester; 25 grandchildren; and 17 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother, and three sisters
