Clifford George Wetterau (15 Mar 1912 – 21 Jan 2006)

Clifford George Wetterau, 93, Dorchester, died Saturday, Jan. 21 at St. Joseph’s Hospital Palliative Care Unit in Marshfield.  A memorial mass was held on Tuesday, Jan 24 at St. Louis Church in Dorchester, with Father Paul Gitter and Father James Schaefer officiating.  Inurnment was at Dorchester Memorial Cemetery. 

Maurina Community Funeral Home assisted the family with arrangements.

Clifford Wetterau was born March 15, 1912 in Fenwood to the late George and Clara (Krzmarcik) Wetterau.  He was a graduate of Edgar High School.

He married Grace Reynolds, who survives, on June 10, 1939 at St. Louis Catholic Church.  He served in the United States Navy from May of 1943 to October of 1945.  He was a cheese maker and co-owner of Dorchester Cheese Company, retiring in 1973.

He was a member of St. Louis Catholic Church, a charter member of Dorchester American Legion and Dorchester Lions Club, and a member of Senior Citizens Bowling League.  He served on the Dorchester State Bank Board for 28 years and was a past village president of Dorchester for many years.

In addition to his wife, survivors include a son, Mark, of Midland, Texas; a sister, Geraldine Drengler of Wausau; and one granddaughter.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters, Adeline Schroeder and Marcella Kuehlman.
