Clarence Schultz (19 Jul 1914 – 11 Jul 2000)

Clarence Schultz, 85, Curtiss, died Tuesday, July 11, 2000, at St. Joseph’s Palliative Care Unit in Marshfield

Funeral services were held July 17 at St. Peter Lutheran Church in Dorchester with Rev. Jerome Freimuth presiding.  Burial was in the Dorchester Memorial Cemetery.

Visitation was July 16 at Maurina Funeral Home in Dorchester and one hour prior to services at the church.

Pallbearers were Phil Laesch, Robert Schumacher, Ryan Schumacher, Don Koerner, Paul Schmidt and Phillip White. 

Clarence Schultz was born on July 19, 1914, in the Town of Mayville, Clark County, the eldest son of Paul and Erna (Wilke) Schultz.  His marriage to Elsie Mattila was celebrated on June 10, 1939, in Dorchester.  In July of 1999, they celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary and Clarence’s 85th birthday with family and friends.

He attended Brady School, Town of Mayville, and later served as treasurer and active member of the school board.  He was a life-long dairy farmer and also raised mink for 20 years.  He was an avid outdoorsman, and loved gardening and playing cards.

         Clarence was a member of St. Peter’s Lutheran Church, where he served as a trustee and board member.

He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Elsie Schultz, Dorchester; three children, David (Alicia) Schultz, Arnold, MD., Diana (Peter) Beardsley, Hamden, CT., and Brian (Ellen) Schultz, River Falls; five grandchildren; and two sisters, Leona Kuegler, Dorchester, and Verna Rosenquist, Owen.

Clarence was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Albert Schultz.

Memorials can be designated for the Medical Foundation of St. Joseph’s Hospital Hemodialysis Unit in Marshfield.
