Hill, Nancy (11 AUG 1973)

The Rev. Arnold Woodring performed the wedding ceremony August 11, 1973, which united Miss Nancy Hill and Ronald Jirovec in marriage at the Owen Alliance Church. The 2 o'clock ceremony was attended by about 250 guests. The soloist was Mrs. Gordon ely, who sang two selections, "Day by Day" and "The Lord's Prayer," accompanied by Mrs. Arnold Awe on the organ.

Miss Hill is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Douglas Braithwaite of Withee (Clark Co., Wis.), and the groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. John Jirovec of Merrill. Miss Hill and Mr. Jirovec both are employed in Wausau.

The bride's gown was a full length shear nylon organza fashioned with delicate re-embroidered lace of rayon, nylon and acetate accenting the bodice. The waist was a high empire style, with collar, sleeves and cuffs embroidered. The A-line skirt had deeply flounce wide flare hem, with a full length chapel train. She carried a bouquet of red roses and white mums. Her fingertip veil was attached to a headpiece of lace and pearls.

Attending the bride as matron of honor was Mrs. Dale Bush, sister of the bride, and Miss Lana Jirovec, sister of the groom, served as bridesmaid. The flower girl was Miss Susan Bush, niece of the bride.

The bride's attendants woere full length gowns of powder blue with chiffon overlay. Their empire waists had delicate re-embroidered lace on the bodice and sleeves. Each carried a single red rose.

Attending the groom as best man was Mr. Dale Bush, brother-in-law of the bride, with junior groomsman, Robert Bush, a nephew of the bride. The ushers were Dennis Giese and Arnold Awe.

The bride is a graduate of the Owen-Withee High School, worked in the O-W High School office, and later in Minneapolis, and is now employed in Wausau. The groom graduated from the Merrill High School and attended WSU at Stevens Point. Their wedding trip took them to southern Wisconsin and they are now making their home in Wausau.
