Dan was born on February 19, 1941, the son of Daniel R. and Mary (Weber) Fagan
at home in the Town of Longwood. He enlisted in the U. S. Army and served from
1962-65. Upon his discharge, Dan worked at Briggs and Stratton in Milwaukee
where he met Cynthia Parker, who changed his world forever! They were united in
marriage on May 10, 1969 at Holy Rosary Catholic Church in Owen and would have
celebrated 50 years of marriage this year.
He returned to Owen and started Fagan Builders with his brother, Larry. Dan
joined the Carpenters Union and then transitioned to the Millwright Union. Dan
had always wanted to drive a “Big Rig” and he did so at the age of 63 years old
and gained his first CDL license. He eventually retired from CFP Trucking in
Withee.
After retirement, Dan and Cindy purchased an RV and enjoyed camping. He also
liked to hunt, snowmobile, and work outdoors. Dan especially liked to go to the
casino. He also proudly served on a mission trip to Guatemala where he helped
build houses for the underprivileged. Dan was very active in the Owen-Withee
community helping wherever it was needed. Most importantly, he was a wonderful
husband, loving father, and caring grandfather.
Dan is survived by his wife of 49 years, Cindy of Withee; three children: Dan of
Stratford, Bradley (Misty) of Chippewa Falls and Tina (Justin) Goodale of
Bloomington, MN; five grandchildren: Brielle, Bennett, Ryder, Ava and Kye. He is
further survived by his brother, Larry of Withee and his sister Elaine (Donnie)
Kohn of Withee; (4 brothers and 2 sisters have preceded him in death); 6
brother-in-laws (two have preceded him in death) and 11 sister-in-laws and their
spouses.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
