Klemm, Steven Eugene (13 DEC 1960 - 15 DEC 2018)

Steven Eugene Klemm, 58, of Whitehall, WI, a former Medford resident, passed away on Saturday, December 15 at Gundersen Lutheran Medical Center, La Crosse, where he had been a patient for the past 9 days.

Memorial services will take place at 11 AM on Saturday, December 22 at First Baptist Church, Medford, with Pastors Tim Becker and Brian Wipf officiating.

Interment of his cremated remains will take place at Medford Evergreen Cemetery II at a later date.

Visitation will take place at First Baptist Church, Medford from 9 AM until the time of services at 11 AM on Saturday, December 22

Steven was born on December 13, 1960, at Merrill, WI, to Eugene “Doc” S. and Beatrice A. (Sunderlin) Klemm.

He was a 1979 graduate of Medford Area Sr. High School and later attended UW-Marshfield (Wood County), UW-Marathon Co., and UW-River Falls. He never married.

Steve worked at Marathon Cheese in Medford and later enrolled in the US Army where he received an honorable discharge. Steve had a long career as a truck driver which he enjoyed and was successful at. He drove for a variety of companies which included Allied Van Lines, Graebel Van Lines, Tombstone Pizza & Weathershield.

Throughout his live, he was a huge sports fan, cheering on the Packers & Badgers. He also enjoyed attending local stock car races. His favorite baseball team was Wausau’s Wisconsin Woodchucks, who he had the opportunity to work for. Steve also showed his competitive spirit by playing in local basketball and softball leagues (where he liked to show off his cannon for an arm)! Over the years, he could be seen working as a referee for a variety of age levels. Steve valued his family, friends and those same people will truly miss him! He was a member of First Baptist Church, Medford.

Steven is predeceased by his father, Eugene “Doc” S. Klemm in 2007.

He is survived by his mother, Beatrice A. (Sunderlin) Klemm, of Medford; siblings Sandra (Bruce) Ross of Medford; Sherry Klemm of Rapid City, SD; Scott (Sherry) Klemm of Mosinee; Shane (Marlene) Klemm of Westboro; and Sally Klemm; and is further survived by one niece, ten nephews and many family and friends.
