Yaeger, Carol J. (17 NOV 1935 – 10 DEC 2018)

Carol J. Yaeger, 83, formerly of Greenwood, passed away on Monday, Dec. 10, 2018, at Stoney River Memory Care in Marshfield. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m., on Thursday, Dec. 27, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Greenwood. Rev. Leo Stanislaus will officiate, and burial will follow in St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery. Honorary pallbearers will be Jen Hargesheimer, Jeremy Weyer, Jill Esser, Jason Weyer, Christopher Yaeger, Logan Bayuk and Austin Bayuk. Visitation will be held at the church on Thursday from 10 a.m. until time of service.

Carol Jeanette Schmitz was born on Nov. 17, 1935, in the Clark County township of Eaton, the daughter of Joseph and Catherine (nee Lindner) Schmitz. She married Burnell W. Yaeger on April 20, 1954, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Greenwood. They lived in Loyal for two years before building and moving into their new home in Greenwood in 1957. Carol worked at Katie’s Dairy Bar in Greenwood and did several other jobs outside of the home. She was also an Avon representative for many years. Carol enjoyed spending time with her friends and family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, traveling, playing cards, and her time fishing and relaxing at their home away from home in Birchwood. She was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Greenwood and a member of St. Ann’s Society.

Carol is survived by her children: D-Ann Weyer of Marshfield, James (Susan) Yaeger of Eau Claire, Joan (Tim) Bayuk of Wautoma, Mike Yaeger of Greenwood, and Patty (Jason) Lamovec of Willard; her grandchildren: Jen (Mike) Hargesheimer of McKinney, Texas, Jeremy Weyer of Marshfield, Jill Esser of Christchurch, New Zealand, Jason (Becky) Weyer of Verona, and Logan Bayuk of Milwaukee; her greatgrandchildren: Reese, Ryan and Jace Hargesheimer, Aubrey and Ainsley Esser, and Alexis and Isaac Weyer; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Carol was preceded in death by her husband of 63 years, Burnell Yaeger; her parents, Joseph and Catherine Schmitz; two grandsons: Christopher Yaeger and Austin Bayuk; four sisters: Josephine Herr, Cecilia Bertz, Catherine Hefner and Mary Ann Kocher; and two brothers: Hubert Schmitz and Otto Schmitz.
