Ted Fetting, a native of Greenwood (Clark Co., Wis.), who is walking for Congress in Wisconsin's Third District, was honored Saturday evening at the American Legion Hall in Greenwood. He is being honored for his work with Vietnam veterans and his present public career. For two years, Fetting was state coordinator of Vietnam Veterans Affairs. In that capacity he designed and implemented Wisconsin Vet Outreach, which has been acknowledged as the best program for Vietnam veterans in the United States. Fetting resigned the position in April to campaign for Congress, and on May 8 began an 800-mile walk in the third District. Gathering at the hall on Saturday evening to visit with Fetting were: Leo Lownik, Chairman of the Clark County Democratic Party; Tom Harnisch, Neillsville; Ted Fetting and wife, Lou Ann; guests speaker for the night, Bill Emanuel, a native of Fairchild and Superintendent of Schools in Cambria, and state veteran leader; and Steve Hemersbach, Longwood.
