Five teachers and a school custodian were honored at a retirement party, which was held at the Elementary School on Friday. Teachers, administrators, school board members, bus drivers, and staff members were present. Mrs. Geneva Berrett conducted the program as mistress of ceremonies, and Mr. Kenneth Bartels, Greenwood Superintendent of Schools, spoke about each retiree. Each honored member was introduced with a special verse composed just for him or her, and sung by the audience. They were also presented with a corsage and gift. Members of Unit B, the G.F.A. She carried out an orientation program to train teachers and to guide students into the I.G.E. setup, which is now implemented in the Greenwood schools. Mrs. Heidemann lists her retirement plans as indefinite.

Mrs. Nina Wolter of R.R. 1, Loyal, has taught in the Greenwood School system for the past 6 1/2 years as Title I instructor. She became ill last November and is presently in the Marshfield Convalescent Home.

Einar Jackson began his 27 years as school custodian at Greenwood in 1947. At that time there was only one building to house all of the grades and the high school. At first he was the only janitor to service the Greenwood school and 11 consolidated schools. At that tiem the school ran three buses and some of the routes were 50 miles or more. Mr. Jackson also recalls shoveling coal into the schools' furnaces. His retirement plans will still include duties of heading the Greenwood bus program as Director of Transportation.
