Badzinski, Margaret A. (28 JUL 1919 – 23 OCT 2018)

Margaret A. Badzinski, age 99, of Thorp, passed away on Tuesday, October 23, 2018, at the Clark County Rehab & Living Center in Owen. Funeral services were held on Monday, October 29,2018, at 10:30 a.ro., at St. Bernard-St. Hedwig Catholic Church in Thorp. Rev. Baskaran Sandiyagu officiated and inurnment followed in New St. Hedwig's Catholic Cemetery. Visitation was held at the church on Monday from 9:30 a.m. until time of service.

Margaret Ann Komanec was born on July 28, 1919, in Gilman, WI, the daughter of John and Magdalena (Hrbos) Komanec. She was raised and educated in the Gilman area and graduated from Gilman High School. She was united in marriage to Harry R. Badzinski on July 18, 1945, at St. Peter-St. Paul Catholic Church in Gilman. He preceded her in death on December 10, 2007. Over the years, Margaret worked as a homemaker and later as a Certified Nursing assistant until her retirement.

She is survived by four children: Magdalen "Lynn" Richard) Kodl of Thorp, William "Bill" (Mary) Badzinski of Stanley, Virginia "Ginger" (Dan) Nieuwenhuis of Mosinee, and Christine "Tina" (Gary) Ebben of Sun Prairie; 14 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.

Margaret was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; one son, Benedict Badzinski in infancy; three brothers: John, Paul, and Joseph; and five sisters: Louisa, Mary, Anna, Bertha, and Mitzie.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be directed to: Thorp Catholic School, 411 E. School St., Thorp, WI 54771.

The family wishes to thank the staff at Miller Alternative Care in Thorp and the staff at the Clark County Rehab & Living Center in Owen for the excellent care Margaret received.
