Smith, Robert (26 JAN 1930 – 29 NOV 1971)

Robert Smith, 41, passed away at his home, November 29, 1871, of a heart attack. Funeral services were held Thursday, December 2, 1971 at St. Bernard's Catholic Church, Thorp. Father Francis Brockman officiated at the ten a.m. service, with interment being made in St. Bernard's Catholic Cemetery.

Pallbearers were Ronald Brunett, Bob Herman, Harold Homan, John Cuccia, Edward Swatzina, and Galen Misfeldt.

Bob, and employee of ITT Midwestern Life Insurance Corporation for the last 15 years, was born January 26, 1930 in the Town of Thorp (Clark Co., Wis.). He was united in marriage to Therese Haas April 23, 1960 at St. Paul, Minnesota. He was an alderman of the City of Thorp 3rd Ward, member of the Library Board, and East Thorp Cemetery.

Surviving are his wife, Therese; parents, Mr. and Mrs. Harry Smith; one son, Timothy, attending school at Stout Menomonie; three daughters, Ellen, Jeaneen, and Joyce, all at home; three brothers, Harold of St. Paul Park, Minnesota, Edward of Thorp, David of Scottsdale, Arizona; four sisters, Marian Shuk of Stanley, Harriet Kitzewow of Minneapolis, Ruth Komarek of Bartlett, Illinois, and Carolyn Heffley of Chicago, Illinois.

People attending the funeral from out of town were from: Arizona, Colorado, Minnesota, Illinois, Wausau, Durand, Sheboygan, Stanley, Eau Claire, Tomahawk, Withee, Cadott, Marshfield, Eau Galle, Chippewa Falls, and Michigan.
