Hansen, Magnus C. (20 FEB 1899 – 26 NOV 1971)

Magnus C. Hansen, 72, 31 George St., Peru, Indiana, retired district manager of Northern Indiana Public Service Company, died at the Veterans Hospital, Marion, at 2:10 a.m., November 26, 1972. He had been ill for some time.

Mr. Hansen came to Peru from South Bend in 1937 and he retired from the company in 1965.

He was graduated from the University of Wisconsin in 1923 asa chemical engineer.

He was born in Thorp (Clark Co.), Wisconsin, February 20, 1899, the son of Neils P. and Karen Hansen. He was married May 15, 1926 to Dorothy Parvis , who survives.

Also surviving are three brothers and two sisters, Einar Hansen, Galesburg, Illinois; Fred, Wyandotte, Michigan; Harold Hansen, Stoughton, Wisconsin.; Margaret Sole, Carrington, North Dakota and Eina Giese, Minneapolis, Minnesota.

Mr. Hasen was a veteran of World War I. He was a member of the Presbyterian Church and was on its board of elders, was a past president of Mississinewa Country Club, and served several years as treasurer of the Miami County Tuberculosis and Health Association, resigning about two years ago.

He was also a member of the Peru Rotary Club, Chamber of Commerce, Elks Lodge, and American Legion.

Funeral services were held in the Eikenberry Funeral Home Monday, November 29 at the family's convenience, with the Rev. Richard Wylie officiating. Burial will be in Chapel Hill Cemetery, South Bend. The family request that all memorials be omitted.
