Witt, Theresa M. (Wellner) (25 APR 1937 - 25 SEP 2018)

Theresa M. Witt, 81, Chippewa Falls, passed away Tuesday, Sept. 25, 2018, at Prairie Pointe Suites and Rehab in Altoona.

Theresa was born April 25, 1937, in the Town of Edson, near Stanley, to George and Theresia (Soeller) Wellner. She attended Edson Grade School, and graduated from Cadott High School with the Class of 1955.

Theresa worked for Dr. Hanes at the clinic in Cadott, and also helped take care of his family. Later, she worked at Mason Shoe Factory in Chippewa Falls. She married Leon Witt May 18, 1957, at St. Charles of Borromeo Catholic Church in Chippewa Falls. Together, they farmed in Cadott, and drove school buses. She was very proud to have driven school bus for more than 40 years. Theresa enjoyed decorating cakes, traveling throughout the world, gardening, craft shows, supporting the local FFA and 4-H clubs.

She is survived by her children – LouAnn (Errol) Weiss, Illinois, Fred (Pam) Witt, Iowa, Juanita (Dan) Sande, Cadott, Rhonda (Tom) Eppers, Abbotsford, Doreen (Sanders) Samplawski, Stanley and William (Nichelle) Witt, Hammond; grandson/raised as a son – Cory (Nicole) Witt, Stanley; grandchildren – Austin and Michael Witt, Shelby Sande, Josh and Jacob Eppers, Andy and Dusty Samplawski, and Gavin and Noah Witt; great-grandchildren – Mitchel, Clarissa, Brenda, Austin and Kennedy Witt, and Joplin Eppers; six siblings – Doris Wellner, Alice Saputo, Lorraine Foiles, Mae Boeger, George Wellner and Rosie Ebert; and many other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband – Leon; daughter – Brenda Witt; grandson – Steven Weiss; parents – George and Theresia Wellner; in-laws – Fred and Bertha Witt; and adoptive parents – Alois and Gertrude Diedrich.

Because of Theresa’s wishes, immediate family only services will be held at a later date.

Burial will take place at the Brooklawn Cemetery in Cadott.
