Strobach, Rodney J. (5 OCT 1960 - 30 SEP 2018)

Rodney J. Strobach, 57, of W2582 Bear Avenue, Rib Lake, passed away on Sunday, September 30, 2018, at Aspirus Wausau Hospital, where he had been a patient for the past 1½ days.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM, Friday, October 5, 2018, at Woodland Community Church, Westboro, with Pastor Bryan Reigier officiating. Interment of his cremated remains will take place at Lakeview Cemetery, Rib Lake at a later date.

Visitation will take place at 4-7 PM on Thursday, October 4, 2018, at Zondlo’s Ball Room, Rib Lake and also at Woodland Community Church, Westboro from 10 AM until the time of services at 11 AM on Friday, October 5.

Rodney was born on October 5, 1960, in Medford, Wisconsin, to Lee Edward and Beverly Jean (Komarek) Strobach.

He attended Ogema Elementary School and was a 1978 graduate of Prentice High School.

Rodney was first married on November 15, 1980 at Ogema, to Bobbi Marsh, and they were later divorced; His second marriage was on February 29, 2004, at Woodland Community Church, Westboro, to Kristin K. Rusch. She survives.

After his education, he worked as a manager at Hause Lumber Co. in Ogema. He also worked as a machinist at Conseco in Medford. Rodney drove truck for several area trucking companies before purchasing and operating Brantwood Auto Salvage. He then became the lead mechanic at Hank’s Truck & Trailer Repair in Tomahawk.

During his earlier working years he always did side jobs as a mechanic or painter to help people out. For the past 11 years, he fulfilled his dream being a full-time self employed mechanic/truck driver for Rodney Strobach Trucking in Rib Lake. He enjoyed helping people, dirt, mud, grease, problem solving, snowmobiling, boating, car racing, hunting & riding his motorcycle. He considered rules recommendations of what people shouldn’t do. Many considered Rodney to be a father figure, brother, mentor & best friend. He was a member of Interwald Wanderers Snowmobile Club and attended Woodland Community Church, Westboro.

Rodney is survived by his parents in-law Robert (Ann) Rusch of Rib Lake & Karen Rusch of Rib Lake; spouse, Kristin K. Strobach of Rib Lake; children Jodi (Don) Behling of Medford; Kristy (James) Carlson of Prentice; Airman Katherine Strobach of Keesler Air Force Base in Biloxi, MS; Ryan Strobach of Rib Lake; Bekah Strobach of Rib Lake; and Step-Daughter: Mary Drum of Centreville, VA.

He is also survived by his grandchildren, Kiarah & Ashton Behling; Chase Reichert; 2 Step-Grandchildren: Deacon & Caden Carlson; siblings Bryan (Mary Henrichs) Strobach of Westboro, Gary (Kim Schroeder) Strobach of Athens/Oconomowoc, & Jari Lynn (Jerry Kurth) Sackman of Ogema.

Rodney is predeceased by his parents; and Sister-in-law: Jini Strobach in 2010.
