Scott Rolland, 10, son of Mr. and Mrs. Gordon Rolland (former Pat Kuester) died Tuesday, August 24, 1971 at St. Joseph's Hospital of injuries from a car accident Thursday.

Scott Rolland, 10, son of Mr. and Mrs. Gordon Rolland, Milwaukee, suffered severe head injuries in the accident which occurred about 6:00 p.m. Thursday at the intersection of County Truck O and a town road, 3 miles west of Greenwood (Clark Co., Wis.).

Gordon Rolland, 34, his wife, Pate, 34, and son, Duane, 11, received outpatient treatment for lacerations and bruises.

The driver of the other car, Melvin W. Alperstett, 50, route 3, Greenwood, was released from the hospital after being treated with for scalp lacerations.

The accident, according to James Simek of the Clark County Traffic Patrol, happened when Alperstett, who was headed west on a town road, slowed his truck and proceeded to cross the highway without stopping at the stop sign.

His truck struck the right side of the southbound Rolland car, just in ront of the passenger side door, tearing off both doors, some of the car top, and the rear fender. Mrs. Rolland, in front, and her two sons, were thrown from the car.
