Ossmann, Donald A. (25 MAY 1928 - 29 AUG 2018)

Donald A. Ossmann, age 90 of Loyal passed away on Wednesday, August 29, 2018 at his residence.

A memorial service will be on Saturday, September 8, 2018 at Saint Paul’s Evangelical Lutheran Church in the Town of Green Grove at 11:00 am. Reverend Don Bruce will officiate. Family and friends are welcome for a visitation from 10:00 am until the time of service at the church. Full military rites will be conducted by the Loyal American Legion Post # 175 following the service.

Don was born on May 25, 1928 in Madison, Wisconsin the son of Herbert and Theresa (Lueck) Ossmann. He attended Madison Schools. Don enlisted in the US Navy at the age of 16. He served his country from January 17, 1946 to July 25, 1947. Don took a course in sheet metal and was a sheet metal installer doing duct work for heating and air condition companies from 1946 to 1950. His marriage to Dorothy Mueller took place on June 24, 1950 in Medford. Don and Dorothy farmed in the Town of Warner from 1951 until 1989, when they moved to the Town of Beaver.

Don is survived by his loving wife; Dorothy, children: Nancy (James) Learman of Kirksville, MO, Gail (Dennis) Brodsack of Battlement Mesa, Co and Jeff Ossmann of Greenwood, grandchildren: James (Brenda) and Jason (Lorrie) Learman, Matthew (Shannon) and Chad (Katie) Lashua, Jaeden, Luke and Lexi Ossmann, great-grandchildren: Cody, Kaylee, Mason, Gavin, Garret, Madison, Makenna and Emory. He is further survived by his brother: Richard (Mary) Riley of Rock Dam and many nieces and nephews.

Don is preceded in death by his parents and his brothers: Everett, Herbert and Ralph.

In lieu of flowers memorials can be made to Saint Paul’s Lutheran Church or the Lutheran Hour.
