Weix, Mr./Mrs. Raymond (Silver – 23 JUN 1969)

Mr. and Mrs. Raymond Weix observed their 25th wedding anniversary Sunday, June 23, 1969, with open house and buffet supper at their country home west of Colby.

Among the guests were all the members of the wedding party, who were Mrs. Frank Carpenter, Colby; Al Beyerl and Ralph Andrews, Colby; Dorothy Techmier, Stanley, and Mrs. Al Hubbard, Thorp.

Ray Weix and Ruth Mertens were married at St. Bernard’s Catholic Church in Thorp on June 23, 1944. Rev. Arnold Mucaerheidy officiated at the ceremony.

Since that marriage the couple has lived on their farm west of Colby (Clark Co., Wis.). They are the parents of 11 children: Rose Ann, Eau Claire; Bonnie Jean (Mrs. David Burch), Superior; John, Jacqueline (Mrs. Tom Younker), Green Bay; Sharon and Nancy, Oshkosh; Debbie, Janet, Beatrice, Marjorie and Thomas.

All the children were in attendance and Mrs. Weix’s brother, Fr. M. Mertens, recently transferred from La Crosse to Holy Family Parish at Willard; Fr. John Olson and Fr. Frank Rushman were among the guests. Other guests were from Thorp, Stanley, Green Bay, Superior, Oshkosh, Dorchester, Abbotsford, Colby, Whitehall and the surrounding communities.
