Woodmansee , Dakota K. (9 AUG 1996 - 14 JUL 2018)

Dakota K. Woodmansee, 21 of Ladysmith, died on Saturday, July 14, 2018.

He is survived by his fiancée; Riley Wickersham of Ladysmith his mother; Crystal Gauthier of Bruce, father; Ryan & Tracy Woodmansee of Bruce, 1 sister; Hannah Woodmansee of Bruce, 5 step-brothers; Jeremy and Kyle Brost both of New Richmond, Samuel Veness of Bruce and Brady & Zander Cerra both of Rice Lake, paternal grandparents; Wayne & Carolyn Rakow of Bruce, maternal grandparents; Edward & Brenda Gauthier of Weyerhaeuser, aunts, uncles, cousins and his best friend; McGregor Czyscon of Bruce.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday July 21, 2018 at Nash-Jackan Funeral Home in Bruce with Rev. Tim Jerry officiating. Burial will be in the Bruce Cemetery. Visitation for friends and family will begin at 4:00 PM on Friday, July 20 at the Funeral Home in Bruce and then again for an hour prior to the service on Saturday.

Dakota Karl Woodmansee, 21, of Ladysmith, died on Saturday, July 14, 2018 after a six-month battle with Ewings sarcoma cancer.

Dakota was born on Aug. 9, 1996 in Rice Lake to Ryan and Tracy Woodmansee/Crystal Gauthier.

He graduated from Bruce High School and was engaged to Riley Wickersham of Exeland. They resided in Ladysmith where they both worked until Dakota's diagnosis of Ewings Sarcoma. He battled the cancer for six months and was always positive and hopeful. He enjoyed being around friends and family and considered himself to be a gamer. He loved children.

Dakota had a strong love for life and nature. He enjoyed photographing everything around him.
Dakota was a very gentle soul and valued respect, honor, kindness and love. He will be missed greatly by all who knew him.

Dakota is survived by his parents; his step-brothers, Samuel Veness of Bruce and Jeremy Brost and Kyle Brost, both of New Richmond; and his sister, Hannah Woodmansee of Bruce. He is also survived by his grandparents, Wayne and Carolyn (Woodmansee) Rakow and Edward and Brenda Gauthier and many aunts, uncles and cousins.

A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, July 21 at Nash-Jackan Funeral Home with Rev. Tim Jerry officiating.

Burial will be in Bruce. A lunch will be served at Dakota's father's house afterward at 1020 N. Alvey St., Bruce.
