Nikkila, Kenneth Dean (10 JUL 1950 - 30 JUN 2018)

Kenneth Dean Nikkila, 67, Town of Hill, died on Saturday, June 30, 2018, at the Aspirus Medford Hospital, Medford.

He was born on July 10, 1950, in Phillips, Wisconsin, the son of Harold and Bessie (Sima) Nikkila. He attended grade and high school in Westboro. He was married to Nancy Levenson on September 23, 1978, in Ogema. They were married for over 39 years.

Ken was employed at various occupations including Omark Industries, as a logger, an over the road truck driver, then at Marquip, Phillips for over 25 years prior to his retirement. In his free time he was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting, fishing, his vegetable garden, cutting boughs, and spending time with his family and friends especially his grandchildren.

He is survived by his wife Nancy, 2 sons: Kenneth R. (Diana) Nikkila, and Kevin (Fiancé Megan Molitor) Nikkila, all of the Town of Hill, by 5 grandchildren: Nathan, Nicholas, Nash, Kendra, and Kole, by 1 sister: Cindy (Tom) Graun, Athens, WI, and by 1 sister-in-law Candace “Candy” Nikkila, South Milwaukee.

He was preceded in death by his parents, and by 2 brothers: Dennis and Ricky.

A memorial service will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Friday, July 6, 2018 at the Ogema First Lutheran Church, Ogema, with Pastor Robert Giese officiating. Friends may call from 10:00 A.M. on Friday, July 6, 2018 at the church until the time of the service.

Heindl Funeral Home, Prentice, is in charge of the arrangements.
