Richard "Dick" Leonhard, age 93 of Tony, passed away Wednesday, June 13, 2018 at Ladysmith Care Community.

Richard is survived by his wife of 68 years, Jean, his children, Jacqueline of Rice Lake, Bill (Sue) of Ladysmith, Mike of Minneapolis, Don (Deb) of Tony, Dan (Sue) of Ladysmith, Jeralyn of Tony, Tom (Connie) of Medford, Jennifer Anders (Ted) of Sheldon, his grandchildren Nick, Stephanie, Amanda, Christina, Brian, Jim, Tyler, Adam, Andrianna, Darren, Courtney, Jesse and Dalton, 10 great-grandchildren and his sister Luella Keup of Milwaukee.

A funeral mass will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, June 23, 2018 at St. Anthony's Catholic Church in Tony with Fr. Inna Pothireddy officiating. Burial will be in St. Anthony's Cemetery in Tony. Visitation will be for one hour before mass at the church on Saturday and from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Friday, June 22 in the Cameo Room at Ladysmith Care Community at 1001 E. 11th St. N. in Ladysmith.

Richard "Dick" Leonhard, age 93, of Tony, passed away Wednesday, June 13, 2018 at Ladysmith Care Community.

Richard was born on April 4, 1925, the son of Frank and Luella Leonhard. He married Jean McFarlane on May 22, 1950. Richard farmed his whole life and was very active in the community. He was involved with the National Farmers Organization, served 15 years as town treasurer, also was on the Flambeau School Board for 15 years and served on the parish council at St. Anthony's Church. Richard was a lifelong lover of baseball and spent 45 years coaching the game at various levels. One could certainly call him the original "Hayshaker"!

When Richard retired he enrolled in the diaconate program and became a deacon in the Catholic church. He very much enjoyed this part of his life, especially visiting the homebound and residents of local nursing homes. He loved to talk on various subjects and could strike up a conversation with anyone.

Richard is survived by his wife of 68 years, Jean; his children, Jacqueline of Rice Lake, Bill (Sue) of Ladysmith, Mike of Minneapolis, Don (Deb) of Tony, Dan (Sue) of Ladysmith, Jeralyn of Tony, Tom (Connie) of Medford and Jennifer Anders (Ted) of Sheldon; his grandchildren, Nick, Stephanie, Amanda, Christina, Brian, Jim, Tyler, Adam, Andrianna, Darren, Courtney, Jesse and Dalton; 10 great-grandchildren and his sister, Luella.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Frank and Luella; his brother, Bill and his granddaughter, Brooke.
