Schlinkert, Herbert T. (1922? – 14 JUL 1971)
Mr. and Mrs. George L. Johnson were notified Wednesday, July 14, 1971 of the death of Mrs. John's brother, Herbert T. Schlinkert, 48, at a Ridgewood, New Jersey hospital following a two month illness.
A graduate of Owen High School in 1940, Mr. Schlinkert attended Eau Claire State College two years before entering the Army Signal Corps in World War II. He later graduated from the University of Wisconsin, Madison in 1947, and was employed by the Victor Chemical Co. as a Chemical-Packaging engineer in Chicago Heights, Ill., while living in Crete, Ill. Six years ago he moved to Ramsey, New Jersey, where he was employed by Stauffer Chemical Co. of New York City.
Besides professional organization, Mr. Schlinkert was a member of Ridgewood Lutheran Church, and held several offices in the Boy Scouts of America, including Scout Master of an area troop.
Survivors include his wife, Dorothy (formerly of Madison), and six children: Mrs. John Almond of Carpentersville, Ill.; David, 19, Karen, 31, Maribeth, 17, Virginia, 16, and Teddy, 12; also his sister, Bernadine, Mt. Horeb; and mother, Mrs. Theo Schlinkert, Neillsville. He was preceded in death by his father in 1969.
Mrs. Theo Schlinkert and Mr. and Mrs. John Almond attended services held at a Ridgewood Lutheran Church on July 19, with burial in Ramsey, N.J.
