Kreitlow, Joseph (26 March 1939 – 11 May 2018) With Flag

Joseph Kreitlow, 79, of Neillsville, WI passed away Friday May 11, 2018 at the Neillsville Care & Rehab surrounded by his family.

Joe was born March 26, 1939 in Dancy. He graduated from Wisconsin Rapids Lincoln High School in 1958. He then went on to serve 11 years in the Wisconsin National Guard and Army Reserves, obtaining the rank of Sergeant (E-5) and served in the 32nd Red Arrow division during the Berlin Crisis. He was a proud member of the American Legion Post 73.

Joe married his wife Sandy Buddenhagen in 1964 at Calvary Lutheran Church in Neillsville. He was a meat manager at IGA and continued meat processing as a hobby. He often did pig roasts and made venison sausage for friends and family. Joe was also a welder at Nelson Muffler from 1966 to 1999. He used his welding expertise to make a sap cooker to make maple syrup, a tradition his family has continued.

Joe was known by his friends and family as an active fisherman, hunter, and gun enthusiast, he was always doing something whether it was taking his grandkids fishing in the Black River or gardening until well into his later years.

Joe is survived by his wife Sandra Kreitlow, three children: Dusty (Melanie) Kreitlow, Jessie (Mike Bryan) Kreitlow, and Clay (Kathy) Kreitlow, nine grandchildren, half-brother Bill Hines and other family and friends.

Celebration of life to be held at The American Legion Post 73 in Neillsville on June 2, 2018 from 12-3 p.m.
