Weiting-Drescher, Catherine Ann “Katie” (26 August 1926 – 3 May 2018)

Catherine Ann “Katie” Wieting-Drescher, (nee Wilson) was peacefully called home May 3, 2018. Beloved wife of the late Donald Wieting for 45 years, loving mother of Robert (Donna) Wieting, the late John (Ruth) Wieting, Edward (Janet Wieting, Jerome (Kathy) Wieting, the late Donna Schwedler and Julie (Paul) Pfister. Further survived, by 15 grandchildren, 26 great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandchild, other relatives and friends.

Preceded in death by a granddaughter, great-grandson, great-granddaughter, three brothers, four sisters and husband Art Drescher.

Katie was born Aug. 26, 1926, in Neillsville to Frank and Clara (nee Tobin) Wilson. Katie graduated from Neillsville High School in 1943. She moved to Milwaukee for two years after high school and worked at Louis Allis Company. She returned to Neillsville and married the love of her life, Donald Wieting, and worked at the Merchants Hotel. They later moved to Menomonee Falls, where they raised their six children and worked at Globe Skate as a secretary. After retiring, Katie and Donald built their dream home in Neillsville. Katie enjoyed bowling, fishing and camping with family, quilting and sewing. She also loved yodeling as well as playing the accordion, but most of all enjoyed being with her family.

Visitation will be held Friday, May 11, 2018, at St. Gabriel Parish, 1200 St. Gabriel Way, Hubertus, from 10 a.m. until time of Mass of Christian Burial at noon. Interment will be at St. Mary’s Cemetery, Menomonee Falls.

A special thank you to the caring staff at Serenity Villa 1, who loved and cared for Katie, Horizon Hospice and Dr. Andy Knoernschild.
