Fitzel, Marine Sgt. James A. (Military -1974)
Marine Sgt. James A. Fitzll, son of Mr. and Mrs. George W. Fitzl of Rt. 2
Greenwood, participated in “Radex 2-74,” a field radio training exercise at the
Marine Corps Base, Camp Lejeune, N. C.
The training, conducted under simulated combat conditions, was designed to
provide Fitzl with the technical skills required to provide special
communications support for Marine infantry units.
He serves with the 2nd Radio Battalion, Force Troops, Fleet Marine Force,
Atlantic, at the base.
A 1966 graduate of Greenwood High School, he joined the Marine Corps in January
1968.
