Eddy, Genevie Mae (28 January 1932 – 2 March 2018)

Genevie Mae Eddy, 86 of Merrillan, passed away Friday, March 2, 2018 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Joseph Hospital in Marshfield. She was born January 28, 1932 in Black River Falls to Charles and Vida {Andrews} Butterfield. Genevie married Roy Eddy on December 16, 1948 in Black River Falls. They lived together in Merrillan for most of their lives. He preceded her in death.

Surviving are her children Pamela (Randy) Brown and Kathy Zimmerman, both of Merrillan; nine grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; many nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends. She is preceded by her husband; two sons, Rick and Jeff; daughter, Brenda; and one granddaughter, Wendy.

Genevie was employed at Hayden IGA, Dales IGA, and Wal-Mart in the pharmacy department for 15 years. She was a member of the American Legion Post #140 of Merrillan Women’s Auxiliary for 58 years. Genevie was also a member of Merrillan United Methodist Church for many years serving as a board member and Sunday school teacher. She was a member of the Merrillan Village board for over 35 years. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, March 10, 2018 at 1:00 p.m. at Merrillan United Methodist Church, 302 East Pearl Street, Merrillan. Pastor Meg Erickson will officiate. She will be laid to rest in Oakwood Cemetery in Merrillan. Visitation will be held from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. prior to services at the church. Jensen-Modjeski Funeral Home, Hixton has been entrusted with services.
