Ahomaki, Jacob E. (21 APR 1898 – 8 AUG 1970)
Jacob E. Ahomaki, 72, Owen (Clark Co., Wis.), passed away Saturday, August 8,
1970, at St. Joseph's Hospital, Marshfield, where he had been a patient but
three days. Death was attributed to complications of old age.
Funeral services were conducted from the Hoeper and Kraut Funeral Home, Owen, at
two o'clock on August 11. Rev. Hilding Peterson, pastor of the United Church of
Christ, Owen, officiated at the final rites, with burial being made in Riverside
Cemetery.
Serving as pallbearers were Bernard Auberg, William Warns, Art Hansen, Harold
Christensen, H.J. Callaway, and Martin Paulsen.
Mr. Ahomaki was born April 21, 1898 in Finland. He came to the United States in
1915 and settled in the Withee area. He entered the Army during World War I and
served with the 32nd Division for 13 years. Later he was employed in Milwaukee
and Waukegan, Ill. During World War II he again served with the 32nd Division.
Mr. Ahomaki was a single man. Survivors include his sister, Mrs. Martha
Schallock, Marshfield, and a half-brother, Martin Ryona, Withee.
He was preceded in death by a half-sister.
