Dassow, Gerald R. Jr. (23 FEB 1952 - 3 FEB 2018)

Gerald R. Dassow, Jr., of Medford, Town of Browning, passed away Saturday February 3, 2018 at his home, surrounded by his loving family and under the care of Aspirus Comfort Care.

Gerald was born February 23, 1952 in Medford to Gerald Sr. and Evangeline (Jari) Dassow. He is a 1970 graduate of Medford Sr. High. He married Cindy Rodman on September 20, 1975 at Holy Rosary Catholic Church in Medford. Cindy survives.

He is further survived by his children: Mark (Amanda) Dassow of Medford, Lisa (Dustin) Zahrt of Marathon, grandchildren Ava and Jacob Zahrt and Addison Dassow, mother Eva Dassow, brother Duane (Linda) Dassow, brother Russ (Lenore) Dassow, sister Lynn (Duane) Bahr, brother Gordon Dassow, brother-in-law George (Mary) Niggemann, all of Medford, and many nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his father Gerald Dassow, sister Gale Niggemann, and brother-in-law David Hraby.

Following high school, Gerald began working for Weather Shield Windows, and spent his entire career working for them as a Tooling Specialist. He enjoyed the outdoors, time spent out at the woods, deer hunting, camping and snowmobiling. He always kept busy by working on projects. He looked forward to “Big Beer Friday” at deer camp every year. He will be remembered for always lending a helping hand with friends and family. Gerald loved his family, especially his children and grandchildren.

A funeral service will be held at 12:30 PM, Wednesday February 7, 2018 at Holy Rosary Catholic Church. Father David Nueschwander will officiate. Burial will follow at Medford Evergreen Cemetery II. Visitation will be held Wednesday morning at Holy Rosary Catholic Church from 10:00 AM until the time of service at 12:30.

Memorial donations in honor of Gerald can be given to his family, for designation at a later date.
