Trogner, Mr. and Mrs. John (Golden – 14 October 1974)

A true Neillsville couple, Mr. and Mrs. John Trogner, wee honored Sunday afternoon in observance of their 50th wedding anniversary with an open house at the home of their daughter and son-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Ed Rice, on Center St. in Neillsville. Family members gathered for a special anniversary dinner Saturday.

Mr. and Mrs. Trogner were married October 14, 1924, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Neillsville, and have lived in the city since that time. They resided on Park St. before moving to their present home on East Sixth St. several years ago.

Mrs. Trogner, the former Edith Seelow, daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Fred Seelow, grew up in the countryside north of Neillsville. Her husband, son of the late Mr. and Mrs. George Trogner, was a city dweller from the start.

Mr. Trogner worked at the Condensery for many years, and also employed by Ed Hauge before joining the Farmers Store Company, where he was an employee for the 32 years preceding his retirement six years ago.

At the time of their marriage, Mrs. Trogner was employed as an operator for the local telephone company.

The couple’s three children are: Mrs. Ernest (Jean) Kuhn of Rt. 1 Neillsville, Mrs. Ed (Betty) Rice of Neillsville, and John Trogner of Stoughton. There are nine grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

The Trogner’s are members of St. Mary’s Catholic Church and she is a member of its women’s society.
