Messer, Barbara (22 APR 1973)

Barbara Messer, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Ansel Messer, Unity (Clark Co., Wis.), and Robert Bearden, Milwaukee, son of Mr. and Mrs. Edward Bearden, Madison, were married Easter Sunday, April 22, 1973, at 3:00 p.m. at the Trinity Lutheran Church, Unity, with the Rev. James Primley officiating.

The bride and groom both walked down the aisle accompanied by their respective parents.

For her wedding the bride chose a princess styled gown of Swiss brocade with pearl trim. Her bouquet consisted of pink roses and lily of the valley cascade, with matching garland as the base for the elbow length veil.

Mrs. Warren Brewer, Sheboygan, sister of the bride, as matron of honor, and Miss Melanie Bearden, Madison, sister of the groom, as bridesmaid, wore gowns of aqua voile with flocked pink flowers. They carried baskets of pink aqua, and white flowers, with matching garland in their hair with aqua veiling.

Mr. Russel Bellile, Stevens Point, was best man, and Reed Bearden, Madison, the groom's brother, was groomsman.

Mr. Robert Messer and Skip Bearden performed ushering duties.

A reception and buffet were held at the Colby Hotel.

Mrs. Bearden will graduate from U.W., Steven Point in May 1973, and her husband is a 1972 graduate of U.W., Stevens Point. He teaches at Wauwatosa East High School.

They will make a trip to Europe next summer as chaperones for Seminars International.
