Smith, Bruce Allen (22 March 1945 – 5 June 2017) With Flag

Bruce Allen Smith, 72, of Black River Falls passed away peacefully June 5, 2017, at his home. He was born March 22, 1945, to the late Louis and Geraldine (John) Smith. He was united in marriage to Ruth Merrill Dec. 22, 1966, in West Allis. Bruce retired from Operating Engineers Local 139; he loved operating heavy equipment. He was also a witty blackjack dealer, retiring from Oneida Casino. Bruce enjoyed cribbage, crossword puzzles, reading, Scrabble, Jeopardy, a good Packers game, cooking, hunting, and traveling, and he had a wonderful sense of humor.

Bruce is survived by his children, Richard (Hinu) of Neillsville, Nelson (Sonia) of Tomah, Levi Sr. of Eau Claire, and Kachina of Villa park, IL; grandchildren, Sam, Sabrina, Forest, Felicia, Winter (Shila), Othayun, Desmond, RickiLee, Yasmeen, Levi, Neveah, William, Preston, and Ivel; great-grandchildren, Eva and Cedrick; sisters. Thaymer, Lea Rae (Floyd) Jerrlyn (Juan) and Bonnie (Israel); and numerous nieces, and nephews.

Visitation was held Wednesday, June 7, 2017, from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Buswell Funeral Home in Black River Falls, and Thursday, June 8, 2017, from 10 a.m. until time of services at Blackdeer Homestead. Funeral services were held at 12 p.m. with Roger Littlegeorge Sr. officiating. Burial followed at the Blackdeer Cemetery.
